Screenshot at Oct 05 22-50-05Here are some guidelines to help insure you register successfully:

  1. User Name: Use your full name. This is one of the most important pieces of information in the registration process. The user name is case sensitive and will be used to identify you with your submitted photography and any comments you may post. Your user name appears at the bottom of all thumbnails and photos. Examples could be: John Smith, J Smith, JG Smith, JSmith, etc.
  2. Email: It just does not work without this.
  3. “Optional Information” is NOT OPTIONAL: This information including your name, country, portfolio URL and your biographical information are Not Optional! In fact, if this information is not filled out and the biographical information stinks, there is a good chance you will never make it into the big time. Don’t be lazy! Tell us all about yourself, your photography, artistic interests, etc. Providing good copy with your images is always a great way to get published and recognized.
  4. Full Name: Please don’t use all lower case when providing this information.
  5. Country: Members of the BWPC pride themselves on being part of an international community. We use this information when we publish or feature your work and it is very important.
  6. Online Portfolio URL: Most serious amateur photographers have established an online portfolio. Some artists don’t have the resources to maintain their own domain and use photo sharing sites to maintain their online portfolio such as Flicker. If you want us to take you seriously, please provide the link to your online portfolio or body of work.
  7. Biography: Very, Very, Very Important that you provide an in-depth biography describing you and your craft.

Registrations are not automatically approved. Each and every application is reviewed by one of the BWPC administrators or Selection Committee members.

Black and White Photography – Submitting Your Work!

Submitting photography and participating in the B&W exhibits is the most important source of contribution to the BWPC.  We also encourage members to contribute to the newsletter by writing articles on any related subject that interests them and will be interesting and useful to the general subscriber list.  Best of all, membership in this community is FREE & Private. We only ask for your participation and enthusiasm.

Community polling drives the content of this website. Your participation in the polling process will help determine what photographer’s work will be published in our monthly features. Other important decisions include site & newsletter content and continued opportunities for community members.

From time to time we will send you notices and news announcing organization events, exhibits, member projects, discussion highlights and useful information relative to black and white photography.

We hope you are interested in submitting examples of your best work and having a chance at being included in one of our features or other exhibits. Join Now!

Who Are BWPC Members?

BWPC MembersThe community’s website, bwpc.org was created in April of 2004 with a few minimum expectations. We have members with enthusiastic ideas and the organization continues to grow.  For now, we are going to focus on maintaining a commercial free website geared toward promoting and enjoying member’s photography.

BWPC Members are those amateur photographers who contribute significantly to the organization.  The more one contributes to this project, the more of a stakeholder he or she becomes.  Continued contribution by members will allow us to maintain a website free of commercials, google adds or anything else that diverts visitors’ attention away from member photography. Click Here to learn more about why the registration process is so important.

We currently have several amateur photographers from around the world submitting their photography for current and future exhibits.  The Selections Committee reviews all photography submitted and only the most highly rated photos are displayed. Click Here to Join Now!
